MY Project USA (MYPUSA) aims to use grant funding to combat youth violence in Columbus, Ohio, and prevent youth from entering the justice system. The initiative focuses on community engagement, social-emotional development, recreation, and creating a nurturing environment. Collaborating with local law enforcement (Columbus Division of Police, Prairie Township Police, and Franklin County Sheriffs), MYPUSA programs include youth leadership, recreational activities like the Hilltop Tigers Soccer Club to deter gang involvement, and weekly sessions promoting social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care. MYPUSA aims to reduce youth violence, prevent gang affiliation and legal issues, and equip youth with skills for future success.
