Kennedy Krieger

Kennedy Krieger is prioritizing enhanced behavioral health services for military families in the Odenton (Fort Meade) area, recognizing the unique stressors associated with military life such as deployment and frequent reassignments. The initiative aims to expand services across three tiers of intervention: Tier I provides preventive services to equip families with skills and resources before difficulties arise, Tier II targets at-risk youth to redirect potential delinquent behaviors, and Tier III offers direct therapy to intervene with children already on a path toward delinquency. By increasing access to these services, Kennedy Krieger seeks to prevent delinquency and violence among military-connected youth, viewing early intervention as a cost-effective strategy that redirects youth from paths leading to crime and delinquency.
