Trauma Informed Youth Diversion Program

Families & Youth Innovations Plus (FYI+) plays a crucial role in addressing the needs of this predominantly Hispanic and economically disadvantaged community. FYI+ plans to expand their services to include a 24/7 response model, aligning with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) best practices, ensuring continuous support and intervention for youth in crisis. This initiative aims to implement trauma-informed care and diversion strategies, reducing truancy and justice system involvement while enhancing community-wide support, including rural referrals from the Department of Juvenile Justice.
