Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $570,000)
Douglas County proposes to expand both the number of providers and types of stability services offered to pre-adjudicated youth, who are primarily youth of color from historically marginalized and underserved neighborhoods. The implementation of these services will reduce the incidence of Racial Ethnic Disparities (R/ED) in the juvenile justice system by preventing youth of color from entering detention; expediting the release of detained youth of color to their homes; and providing early intervention using culturally competent evidence-based services and programs to meet the needs of the families and youth within the family-home.
