Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The purpose of the Hawaii Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is to continue protecting minors from the harm that is caused by offenders, who use computers and cyberspace to facilitate their crimes. During this project period, task force members will achieve goals and objectives by hiring and training new personnel, conducting investigations, performing digital forensics exams, prosecuting offenders, performing public education activities, and working cooperatively with federal, state and local colleagues. More Specifically, the Task Force will work to: increase the number of both proactive and reactive investigations; increase the number of forensic examinations; increase the number of referrals received from other ICAC Task Forces and federal partners; increase the capabilities of the Hawaii ICAC Task Force agencies in the investigation of technology-facilitated crimes against children; enhance the Hawaii ICAC Task Force’s effectiveness in preventing these types of offenses; and formalize law enforcement partnerships through written agreements.
