Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $4,400,000)
National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) proposes to design, develop, and deliver trauma-informed, research based and culturally appropriate training and technical assistance (TTA) to law enforcement, state and tribal AMBER Alert partners and others working in child protection roles across the nation, along the northern and southern borders, in the U.S. territories, and in native and tribal communities. These efforts will improve responses to incidents of missing, endangered, and abducted children by increasing capacity through greater capabilities and skill sets. NCJTC and its network of partners and SMEs will deliver curriculum through classroom, live-virtual and asynchronous eLearning modalities to ensure equitable distribution of trainings to all serving in child protection roles including those in rural, tribal, underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected communities. Expected outcomes include expanding the number of participants exhibiting an increase in knowledge post-training and the number of organizations reporting improvements in operations based on the TTA; improving overall response capacities; and strengthening AMBER Alert plans through state, tribal and territorial TTA and support.
