Movement + Mentorship = Metamorphosis (M3) Program

Keshet Dance Company will foster healthier individuals—physically, mentally, and emotionally—while strengthening life skills, personal empowerment, and academic skills to break the cycle of incarceration in New Mexico and lead to higher graduation rates and productive members of the community. Deliverables include expanding the grantee’s M3 (Movement + Mentorship = Metamorphosis) arts programming from the post-adjudication prison facility to the pre-adjudication detention facility, providing each youth within the detention center (ages 10–17) once a week for three classes. This arts-based curriculum is expected to address the critical need to stop the reincarceration cycle by transforming the lives of youth through the arts and long-term mentorship.
