Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $570,106)
The proposed project will target Atlantic County New Jersey, an area composed of 16 towns and cities with an estimated population of 274,534, to provide services that address the grief and trauma youth suffer from the loss of a parent and/or trauma inflicted due to parental substance use. Atlantic County has prevention and treatment services for the family member with the substance addiction, but family therapy services are very limited and there are no direct services tailored to meet the needs of youth affected by substance abuse. This project will expand the agency’s services to provide family engagement services focused on reunifying and strengthening families that have been affected by substance use by developing three programs: Youth Grief Program, Youth Trauma Program, and Family Engagement Program.
