Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $1,000,000)
King County’s Department of Community and Human Services, Children, Youth and Young Adult Division (CYYAD) proposes to build on efforts to end the use of secure detention for
youth by 2025 and to implement innovative recidivism-reduction policies, practices, and programming, and strategically reinvest resulting cost savings into community-based prevention
and intervention programs. Together with Black, Indigenous, and People of Color community-based agencies, CYYAD staff propose activities to meet the following goals and objectives: (1) develop the infrastructure and systems of Restorative Community Pathways (RCP), (2) deepen and broaden community connections through an RCP community advisory body, and (3) strengthen partnerships to transform the juvenile legal system.
