Juvenile Justice System Reform

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office aims to improve racial equity, increase supports for individuals impacted by the justice system, increase trust from the community, and strengthen community safety in Hennepin County, Minnesota.   Primary activities include inviting community stakeholders to develop and implement programs focused on disparities and inequities in Hennepin County’s Youth Justice System; examine disparities at decision points within HCAO’s sphere of decision-making authority; and invest in evidence-based programs that divert young people from the justice system.
