Charleston's West Side Mentorship Project

The Charleston West Side Mentorship project will expand and improve the Mentors for Middle School initiative, a pilot initiative led by the Charleston West Side Alliance, nonprofit Step-by-Step, the Midian Leadership Project, and the City of Charleston to provide after-school and after-practice leadership development and safe spaces, from trusted adults and trained support staff, that is proven to reduce truancy, delinquency, involvement in the juvenile justice system, and gang involvement.
