Night Moves Youth Violence Prevention

The City and County of Denver, Denver Parks & Recreation (DPR) proposes to expand the Night Moves youth violence prevention program. Night Moves programming targets youth 10-18 who may be at risk or may be involved in youth violence. The approach is to build skills, foster healthy relationships and provide new experiences in a safe space. The goal is that youth develop rapport with caring adults who are available to support them through their challenges and connect them with resources. Outcomes are intended to reduce violence risk factors (community isolation and limited connectivity and negative environment exposure/options) and increase resiliency factors (access to quality mental health, community connections and networks and positive environment exposure/options).
