OJJDP FY 2022 Invited to Apply - Juvenile Justice and DelinquencyPrevention Act (JJDPA) Training and Technical Assistance Program

The Coalition for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) proposes to deliver targeted training and technical assistance opportunities to ensure that states, territories, and tribal communities are supported in implementing the following strategies: compliance and best practice strategies to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA) four core protections; key updates and changes made to the Act and related federal guidance; strategies to maximize the utility and authority afforded to SAGs; opportunities to strengthen the three-year planning process and related youth serving systems of care; strategies to improve partnerships with youth and community, as established under the Act; and opportunities to create leadership pathways for young people, particularly those impacted by the system. CJJ is uniquely positioned to address these needs and provide the support reflected above. As a national coalition of State Advisory Groups (SAGs) allies, CJJ has a long history of partnering with SAG members and related Designated State Agencies. CJJ has built trust and maintains active relationships with Title II stakeholders, enabling CJJ to be a trusted partner in the delivery of specialized training and technical assistance that help states both come into compliance with the JJDPA and its core protections and benefit from the Act. CJJ and its staff also serve as leading experts on youth justice, with experience in providing training, implementing and managing Title II/JJDPA requirements, creating resources for SAGs, and partnering with emerging leaders.
