Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $705,438)
The New York State Police will continue to maintain, expand, and improve the New York ICAC Task Force’s effectiveness in preventing, interdicting, investigating, and prosecuting Internet crimes against children and technology-facilitated child exploitation. The purpose and mission of the NY State ICAC Task Force is to develop and implement effective response strategies to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children. The NY State ICAC Task Force and its affiliate agencies are engaged in both proactive and reactive investigations, forensic examinations, and criminal prosecutions. Moreover, the NY State ICAC Task Force is dedicated to increasing investigative and forensic capabilities, conducting proactive and reactive investigations, increasing the number of prosecutions in Federal and State courts, providing training and technical assistance, providing educational outreach and awareness, and enhancing nationwide responses to ICAC offenses. Progress will be measured through monthly and semi-annual reports as required by the Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
