Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $370,945)
The Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (IICACTF) is a statewide multi-disciplinary, multi-jurisdictional task force that detects, investigates and prosecutes individuals that use technology to prey on children. The task force consists of over 100 city, county, state and federal investigators, forensic examiners, prosecutors and support personnel that serve the entire state of Idaho with a population exceeding two million people. The IICACTF is led by the Idaho Office of Attorney General, which employs a unit of experienced investigators and forensic examiners that actively investigate ICAC cases throughout the state on a full-time basis. In addition to working ICAC-related cases, IICACTF routinely equips, trains and supports other agencies throughout the state that lack proper resources, as well as educates the public on internet safety and crime prevention techniques. Task force progress is measured in terms of the number of investigations conducted, arrests made, investigators/prosecutors trained, agencies equipped and presentations conducted.
