National Crittenton and the OJJDP Girls TTA team understands the goal of Reducing Risk for Girls in the Juvenile Justice System is to reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for girls who come in contact with the juvenile justice system, and place them on a path toward success, stability, and long-term contribution to society. To achieve this goal, the OJJDP Girls TTA team’s objectives are to: 1. Expand the skills of program providers and other stakeholders working with the target population of girls in the juvenile justice system; 2. Assist program providers with improving juvenile justice system responses for girls in contact with the system. National Crittenton (NC) lead applicant, The National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ) subrecipient, the Assessment Team and the Core Consultants of girl experts are the providers of training and technical assistance. Additional experts outside of the Core Consultants will be engaged as appropriate based on training and technical assistance needs. OJJDP Girls TTA activities will include the development of customized girls TTA plans for Category 1 Project Sites for the provision of virtual and in-person training and technical assistance; development and dissemination of resources on girls; and other forms of TTA such as Peer-to-Peer Learning, Webinars, etc.
