The Arkansas Dept. of Human Services/Division of Youth Services certifies that it will comply with the requirements for the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Program (OJJDP) 2022 Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Reallocation Funds. The focus of this project will be to assist the Two of the four Juvenile Correctional/Treatment Center located in that State of Arkansas to become compliant with the PREA requirements.
The goal of this project is to purchase cameras for the One Juvenile Correctional and One Treatment Centers. Safety and security are paramount when persons are confined to a juvenile correctional/treatment center. Cameras can enhance facility and staff security by being an important tool for safety, investigations, and to monitor staff performance. This endeavor can be assisted by providing technology resources to the One Juvenile Correctional and One Treatment Center that will allow them to monitor activity as well as conduct precise investigations within each facility. It is acknowledged that there is a diminished expectation of privacy in confinement settings but has enhanced privacy with updates to the bath and toilet areas.
