The City of Hartford has designed and led multiple programs to connect and support justice-involved youth including the Youth Violence Prevention and Intervention (YVIP) Work Group. The objective of this project is to facilitate the introduction of a new innovative program that customizes interventions based on partipants' readiness for change. It includes cross-agency coordination, and culturally competent multi-disciplinary providers and is based on youth- and healing-centered practices. The program will be evaluated to determine its success in enrollment and retention of youth, reduction of high-risk behaviors, reconnection of youth to educational venues, and rate of recidivism.
