Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $702,864)

The Thirtieth Judicial District Domestic Violence - Sexual Assault Alliance, Inc., (The Alliance) will use funding to develop a collaborative network of bilingual and culturally responsive intervention, prevention and mental health treatment services across multiple sites in the far western counties of North Carolina, to serve Latinx youth and families impacted by opioid and other substance use disorders. The Alliance operates a specialized Immigrant Outreach Program that has been serving Latinx crime victims residing in the seven far western counties. Program goals include developing and implementing evidence-based culturally responsive programming,  improving communication with parents/caregivers, preventing/reducing substance misuse and increasing knowledge of high risk behaviors, and providing bilingual prevention, intervention and mental health treatment services for parents and caregivers, using evidence-based mental health treatment plans. The applicant also received priority consideration by including policies, practices, and /or procedures that are responsive to DOJ priorities.
