Talking Attendance: Dialogue on Tribal Truancy Prevention across Indian Country

This session will serve as an open dialogue to gain knowledge about current issues impacting Tribal truancy prevention initiatives in community or court-based programs. 

Programs that work with youth and track attendance or school-performance as a program indicator are encouraged to join and share strategies, concerns, or lessons learned. 

Attendees will be offered an opportunity to learn more about training and support offered from the Tribal Youth Resource Center.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss attendance challenges being faced in your community by families, schools, programs, and systems since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Share solutions and strategies that were used to sustain the truancy prevention programming that engages and supports families and youth facing attendance challenges.
