The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will provide an overview of the federal compensation program and discuss changes to the proposed Victim Compensation Rule. The proposed Rule, which provides guidelines for implementation of the compensation program, is open for public comment until April 5, 2024. OVC will take questions about the compensation program, but OVC cannot receive comments about the proposed Rule during the informational webinar. OVC encourages anyone interested in providing comments about the proposed Rule to submit comments through the Federal Register, so OVC and the general public has access to all comments.
