Mentoring programs are increasingly supporting young people experiencing mental health concerns, such as depressive symptoms or the effects of trauma. Yet, it’s neither feasible, nor necessarily appropriate, for every mentoring program to add clinically-trained staff. This 60-minute facilitated course will present considerations and options for mentoring program staff or technical assistance providers to access clinically-informed professional guidance for informing match support conversations. The webinar builds on the learning in the online course “Introduction to Mentoring Youth Impacted by Foster Care.” The webinar will address clinical needs that may arise in serving youth with exposure to trauma, particularly youth impacted by foster care, and exploring a continuum of options for accessing clinical support.
