Faith- and Community-Based Youth Violence Prevention Training and Technical Assistance Project
This program aims to build the capacity of OJJDP’s Safe and Thriving Communities in its implementation of comprehensive youth violence prevention, intervention, and suppression plans. This work effectively builds on Development Services Group, Inc.’s (DSG) previous training and technical assistance (TTA) efforts for the Safe and Thriving initiative, to support their gang and gun violence prevention and community violence reduction efforts. Through this project, the DSG team encourages the coordination of faith- and community-based efforts across traditions to address youth violence. The DSG team works to help build site capacity by implementing a number of activities.
DSG provides TTA in organizational development; effective and essential partnerships; and effective programs and practices through activities such as regular site consultation calls, monthly TA Cohort Calls with all sites to cover relevant topics and foster peer networking, and resource provision.
