OJJDP supports states and communities in their efforts to develop and implement effective and coordinated prevention and intervention programs and to improve the juvenile and criminal justice systems so that they protect public safety, hold offenders accountable, and provide treatment and rehabilitative services tailored to the needs of juveniles and their families.

OJJDP FY 10 Missing and Exploited Children Program Support

Through this program, OJJDP seeks to identify a provider to serve the Missing and Exploited Children Program through a variety of services and program support. Authorized by the Missing Children=s Assistance Act of 1984, the Missing and Exploited Children (MEC) Program is the primary vehicle for building an infrastructure to support the national effort to prevent the abduction and exploitation of children.

OJJDP FY 10 Missing and Exploited Children National Training Program

Through this program, OJJDP seeks to identify a training provider to develop and implement training on effective responses to child victimization cases for state and local law enforcement, child protection personnel, prosecutors, medical providers, and child advocacy center professionals.

OJJDP FY 10 VOCA Regional Childrens Advocacy Centers Program

The VOCA Regional Children's Advocacy Centers competitive program supports four Regional Children's Advocacy Centers (RCACs) that will work to (1) develop multidisciplinary teams, local children's advocacy center programs, and state chapter organizations that respond to child abuse and neglect; and (2) strengthen existing multidisciplinary teams, child advocacy center programs, and state chapter organizations through the delivery of training and technical assistance.

OJJDP FY 10 Child Protection Division Fellowship Program on Childrens Exposure to Violence

The fellowship will provide an opportunity for professionals, practitioners, researchers, or trainers with expertise in children’s exposure to violence to help implement collaborative crossagency strategies, policies, and evidence-based practices across the services continuum and the developmental age spectrum for children and their families.

OJJDP FY 10 VOCA Training and Technical Assistance for Child Abuse Prosecutors Continuation

The Training and Technical Assistance for Child Abuse Prosecutors program will fund a national training and technical assistance program for attorneys and others involved in the criminal prosecution of child abuse in order to enhance the effectiveness of the investigation and prosecution of such crimes. This program is authorized under the Victims of Child Abuse (VOCA) Act 42 USC Section 13003.
