Case 7

Project Payback
702 Elm Street
West Bend, WI 53095

The Program: The program provides work skills training, subsidized work placements, and assistance in finding jobs for persons ordered to pay restitution. It also provides work placements for persons required to perform community service. Transportation and psychological counseling are also provided.

Typical Case: Two youth, apparently bored and with little else to do, jumped repeatedly on a wooden fence until it broke. An informal agreement was arranged through Project Payback and the sheriff s department in which the youth were assigned to 20 hours of community service and ordered to pay $100 in restitution. The orders were completed successfully, and the case was closed.
