National Youth Justice Awareness Month     

President Obama has issued a proclamation declaring October 2016 to be National Youth Justice Awareness Month. OJJDP is at the forefront of the movement to reform the juvenile justice system and was specifically acknowledged in the proclamation for the work of its Smart on Juvenile Justice initiative. Our Vision

Did you know?

Among facilities that responded to mental health evaluation questions in 2014, 58 percent reported that they evaluated all youth for mental health needs, and 41 percent evaluated some but not all youth. Only 1 percent said that they did not evaluate any youth (either inside or outside the facility) during their stay.
