Teresa Rafael, M.S.W., is Vice President of Programs and Lisa Pion-Berlin, Ph.D., is President and Chief Executive Officer of Parents Anonymous, Inc., Claremont, CA. Juanita Chávez, M.S.W., A.C.S.W., author of the sidebar on sample Parents Anonymous^SM programs, was, until her death in March 1998, a valued Senior Program Associate at Parents Anonymous, Inc. In her memory, Parents Anonymous, Inc., has established the Juanita Chávez Award to recognize staff members or volunteers from Parents Anonymous^SM community-based organizations who demonstrate exemplary dedication and commitment to promoting parent leadership.
