II. Title V In Action

Over the past 4 years, 477 communities in 47 States and 5 Commonwealths and Territories have received Title V Community Prevention Grants, and, as a result of their participation in the program, many are beginning to see positive changes in the factors associated with juvenile crime and delinquency. This chapter describes State and local implementation of the Community Prevention Grants Program and highlights some of the many local success stories. The first section describes the Title V resources that have been provided to participating States and communities to date, including training, technical assistance, evaluation support, and funding. The second traces one State's progress in implementing the Community Prevention Grants Program model, and the third highlights examples of seven other local jurisdictions' progress across the country.
